Satellite & Drop Off Locations

A Satellite Office is a volunteer who allows people from all over the country to mail in coupons. They check the coupons to make sure they are usable by the Military families and then repackages them to be mailed to a Swap Group coordinator.  That coordinator then distributes the coupons to the families within her swap group, supporting between 10 – 80 different families, depending on the military base.  An individual satellite normally sends large flat rate boxes of coupons. The quantity of shipments depends on the donations received at that satellite location, but most sends between 20 – 100 lbs coupons per month.

A Drop box location is a local business who has agreed to place a collection box within their place of business.  The general public is then invited to leave their unwanted or expired coupons. Then a volunteer, often an employee of that business, will check the coupons, package them for shipment and send them off, much like a satellite volunteer.

We also have many Large Donor coordinator, who works with a business who wants to collect coupons within their company, but do not wish to be a Drop Box Location.  They collect for their employees, but due to the nature of the business, can’t invite the public as easily.   They do roughly the same as other volunteers.
